Overall objective
To develop and to assess novel methods and tools that account for the interconnectedness of water resources (storages), fluxes, demands, and uses, between spatial and temporal scales that are pertinent for agricultural and water decisions and management.
Supporting Decision-Making for Water Managers and Farmers
Cross-scale water accounts are essential tools for water managers and farmers when making decisions. These stakeholders implement solutions to adapt agriculture to water scarcity—from the field to the landscape and catchment levels. To do so effectively, they require quantitative insights into:
- The efficiency of planned solutions at their targeted scale, and
- The potential consequences of these solutions at both higher and lower scales
